Ministries
Following are descriptions of HBC’s ministry activities. Our prayer and desire for each ministry is that it help us accomplish one or more the objectives noted in our mission statement as described on Principles & Objectives. We seek to provide the location of each ministry on our Calendar. If it’s not found there, please call the phone number at the bottom of this page for that information.
Sunday Morning Worship
HBC gathers each Sunday morning at 10AM for a time of worship. This includes singing of praises to God, prayers, scripture reading and the preaching of God’s Word.
Sunday Evening Ministry
HBC gathers each Sunday evening from 6-7:15PM for a time of worship through singing, prayer, and Bible teaching. This gathering takes place at the same time as our children's and youth ministries as described below. Nursery care is available.
Youth & Children’s Ministry – Each of our children’s and youth ministries is staffed by approved children’s workers in accordance with our Child Protection Plan (CPP). Two requirements of this CPP are two person accountability and that each worker pass a national criminal and sexual offender background check before serving. Our CPP training video, CPP policy document which includes the approved children's worker application form, and Child Discipline Policy are available below.
Children
Nursery – HBC’s nursery is available for infants to under four years old during our Sunday morning worship service and our Sunday night ministry hour.
Children’s Church – during our Sunday morning sermon, HBC provides a time of singing, Bible lessons, crafts, and snacks for our children ages 4 to 4th grade. Our goal is to help each of our children learn biblical principles for his or her life.
Heritage Kids' Club - Our Sunday 6-7:15PM children’s ministry seeks to help children age 4 to 6th grade to have fun, make friends, memorize God’s Word, and understand his or her need to trust in Jesus alone to pay for sin and give the gift of eternal life.
Youth
5-9th Grade Bible Class – Every other Sunday, our 5-9th grade students are encouraged to join a special Bible Study time during the message of our morning service. On the opposite alternating Sundays, our 5-9th graders are encouraged to stay in the morning service and take notes as they seek to learn from our morning message.
National IFCA Youth Convention – during the last week of June, HBC youth and those from IFCA churches across the country gather for a national convention. The convention is typically held on a Christian college campus. In addition to the national quizzing competition, each youth is encouraged to participate in another Ministry Training Area (MTA) which prepares them to serve in the church with their God given gifts. Musical performance, worship leading, signing, puppetry, musical composition, and apologetics are a few of the MTAs. Monday through Friday, after breakfast and morning devotions, youth choose from three or four elective seminars that further prepare them to serve. MTAs take place during the rest of the day with youth also having free time for other activities. Dinner is followed by an encouraging time of worship with some students sharing their MTAs. A special speaker brings a series of Bible messages to challenge and encourage our youth in their relationship with and service to God. Often, some of our adults join the convention as counselors and come home just as encouraged as our youth.
Women’s Ministry
Ladies’ Bible Study – our ladies gather for a time of studying God’s word and mutual encouragement. The study is held every (sometime every other) week during a portion of the year. Please call the church phone number for the next meeting time and location.
Men’s Ministry
Men’s Bible Study – small groups of our men gather to study God’s Word at various times depending on these men’s schedules. The goal of these studies to challenge ourselves, as men, to more carefully learn the various doctrines of scripture so we can put them into practice in our own lives and the lives of our families. Please call the church phone number to learn about current studies and times.
